Palestinian injured detainee’s family calls for his release

Palestinian injured detainee’s family calls for his release
The Palestinian family of the prisoner Emad Shahin, who was shot and kidnapped by Israeli forces earlier on Saturday, called on international rights organizations to urgently intervene to reveal the fate of their son.

Emad, 17, was injured when Israeli soldiers opened fire at a group of Palestinian youths near the border east of al-Maghazi refugee camp in the middle area of the Gaza Strip.

Family sources affirmed that Emad was shot and injured in his abdomen before being kidnaped by Israeli soldiers while bleeding.

The family urged the Red Cross and international rights institutions to reveal his fate.

Hebrew media sources earlier said that the injured Palestinian's condition gravely deteriorated and he was transferred to Soroka Hospital by a helicopter.

Emad was injured three time since the start of the Return March protests in May 31, his family added.
