Pakistan Condemns Blast in Jalalabad
Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Afghanistan’s city Jalalabad, killing and injuring many innocent civilians on Sunday.

Spokesman of Foreign Office, Dr Muhammad Faisal, in a tweet, said that we are distressed and grieved at the loss of precious human lives.

He said we express our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and pray for early recovery of the injured.

Yesterday, at least 20 people were killed and many others injured in an explosion in Jalalabad, eastern Afghanistan, said the provincial government officials.

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani visited the city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar, hours before Sunday’s explosion, which damaged shops and buildings around Mukhaberat square.

Attaullah Khogyani, the provincial governor’s spokesperson, said the blast killed at least 20 people and wounded dozens of others.

Local media reported that security forces immediately cordoned off the area as ambulances transferred the victims to the hospital.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion.
