Mickey Arthur disappointed by Pakistan's dismal show vs West Indies

Head Coach Mickey Arthur
Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has expressed his disappointment at his side's dismal show in World Cup match against West Indies.

Mickey, after Pakistan's seven-wicket defeat at the hands of West Indies at Trent Bridge on Friday, highlighted that team couldn't take their preparation to the game.

"Yes, it was a shocking start and batting…the players did not take the prep into the middle. But we will dust ourselves off and come back strongly," he said.

Pakistan lost half of its wickets to short balls, exposing the team's shortcoming to play short-pitched deliveries. But Mickey says the team was well prepared for that.

"We knew that we are going to get short pitch bowling and had prepared very well for it. So it was disappointing to see us play like that," he said.

Pakistan next plays hosts England on June 3 at the same venue and the head coach is hoping for a comeback against them.

"We know how good England are but we know them and are battle-hardened against them," he said.

"We have assessed what went wrong and will continue to work on those things," he added.
