The APC session was summoned upon the behest of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) leader Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Peoples Party leaders Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Yousuf Raza Gillani, were among the attendees in the meeting.
Baloch National Party-Mengal did not attend the opposition huddle as it reached compromise at the 11th hour with the federal government.
The APC declared that the PTI government's governance has become a threat to national integrity, sovereignty and interests. The declaration said that the poor are facing burnt of the series of disastrous policies, the given contemporary political situation is paving the way for a violent revolution.
The opposition parties declared that the PTI government is fulfilling the interests of foreign elements, and has become a huge security risk.
Sources privy to the development said that the PPP and PML-N did not support Fazl's recommendation to give resignation from the assemblies. Representatives from both the parties said that they can present their case better in parliament.
