The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) pleaded to the court for more time to complete the corruption inquiry against Durrani.
The court asked investigation officer of the case why the bureau required more time to complete the probe. The investigation office said that the inquiry is yet to be completed.
The defence counsel submitted a petition seeking B class in jail for his client. “Agha Siraj is Speaker of Sindh Assembly, the NAB should not have any objection over the request,” the counsel said.
The court issued notice to the NAB over the request of the accused for allotting him B class in jail.
The accountability court adjourned the case hearing until May 10.
The court in previous hearing denied NAB extension in physical remand of Agha Siraj Durrani and sent him to jail.
The NAB had pleaded to the court for 15 days’ extension in physical remand of Durrani. The court after arguments of lawyers rejected the request of the bureau and ordered the accused to be sent to jail on judicial remand till April 26.
Sindh High Court had also ordered the NAB to wind up its investigation against Agha Siraj Durrani within four weeks.
A bench of the high court headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh heard bail petition of Durrani.
