Crackdown against miscreants launched across country
Police officers on Monday have launched a crackdown against miscreants for vandalizing law and order situation across the country during protests of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), following acquittal of Asia Bibi by Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).

According to security personnel, more than 200 suspects have been detained from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi, Sheikhupura and Peshawar so far. Police official said that raids are being conducted countrywide to nab the rioters.

An action is also underway in Lahore where eight miscreants have been remanded in police custody for 14 days.

On the other hand, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has also initiated process of accumulating evidence against all those involved in pillage and wanton violence during the protest.

Interior ministry has also dispatched a draft to FIA in this regard.

Sources privy to FIA told our correspondent that officials will identify the culprits involved in vandalism through videos and pictures available on social media whereas data through other sources would also be garnered.

The agency has also urged masses to lodge complains and share evidence with authorities concerned.
