The conservative desert kingdom, Saudi Arabia, has decided to arrange first ever ‘qawwali’ (a genre of devotional or Sufi poetry) concert as it has already lifted a decades-long ban on cinemas last year as part of a far-reaching modernization drive.
In this regard, a gathering for ‘qawwali’ will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where one of the world s most loved South Asian music artists, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform mystical and spiritual singing along with his team.
Dunya news further added that a large number of Saudi citizens including Pakistani Embassy officials will attend the ceremony in Riyadh.
Earlier - April 18, 2018 - Saudi Arabia broke a 35-year ban on movie theaters with a special showing of the Disney blockbuster "Black Panther" in the Saudi capital that allowed men and women to sit together.
