The meeting is taking place at Nawaz’s Jati Umra residence. Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz and senior PML-N leader Pervaiz Rashid are also attending the meeting, according to sources.
“The All Parties Conference (APC) scheduled for October 31 is the focus of the meeting. Maulana Fazl wants to convince Nawaz to attend the conference,” sources added.
A day earlier, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said they have agreed to attend the APC hosted by Maulana Fazl.
sources said that Nawaz has been reluctant to hold a one-on-one meeting with Zardari. The sources said that Nawaz has reservations over PPP's role following the July 25 polls.
Efforts are being made by Maulana Fazl to convince the former premier for the meeting, sources added.
