Federal Govt Decides Not To Increase Electricity tariff

Federal Minister for Information Choudhry Fawad and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Khusro Bakhtiar said that Government has decided to not increase the electricity tariff.

Addressing media in Islamabad, Minister said that increase in electricity tariff has been postponed.

Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms, Khusro Bakhtiar says socio-economic and human capital development is the agenda of the incumbent government and full attention is being given in this regard.

Talking to media along with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain in Islamabad today, he said human capital is real potential of Pakistan and a new group is being established under socio-economic development for the purpose.

He said the government will bring financial planning and discipline to achieve goals of development and prosperity.

Referring to China Pakistan Economic Corridor project, he said the base of CPEC will be broadened and its pace will be expedited and right planning will be carried out to this effect.

Khusro Bakhtiar said there is need to leverage the strategic location of our country. He said when direct investment will be attracted in the country it will definitely contribute giving right direction to the economy.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the prices of electricity will remain intact and there will be no increase in its price.

He said decision to this effect was taken during Economic Coordination Committee meeting today.
