Accompanied by PTI leader Imran Ismail, the delegation left Karachi for Islamabad earlier today to meet Imran at his Bani Gala residence.
Headed by party convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the MQM-P delegation will put forth its demands in today’s meeting, sources said.
Sources further stated that Amir Khan and Faisal Subzwari are also part of the MQM-P team that will assure PTI of its allegiance.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan had earlier decided to join PTI to form the federal government.
Earlier on, at last the much-awaited news came on the spotlight, when the convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced on Wednesday his complete support to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) in the centre.
The decision was taken in MQM’s Rabita committee meeting presided over by convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
After the MQM announcement, PTI came in position to complete the magical numbers 172 in the lower house.
Talking to party’s Rabita Committee members Khalid Maqbool said that MQM parliamentarians will sit on treasury benches in the lower house of the parliament.”In the first phase of the formation of government MQM will not be the part of the cabinet,” MQM-P chief said.
Asif Ali Zardari contacted MQM leadership and invited them to join grand opposition alliance in the lower house of the parliament.
He woos the MQM saying that if MQM-Pakistan supports the grand opposition in centre, PPP will give them share in Sindh government.
Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) had turned down an invitation to attend an all-party conference being hosted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Islamabad.
The decision came shortly after former Sindh governor and PML-N leader Mohammad Zubair spoke to Faisal Sabzwari and invited his party to attend the APC.
