While addressing an event in Lahore after meeting Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Gujranwala and Faisalabad divisions, he said we will have to change our perception of things and our way of thinking.
Nawaz Sharif said policies of 1971 are being repeated, even Bangladesh is far forward from us now days.
“If we have been unable to bring about any substantial reform in the last 70 years then today, we should apologise and seek forgiveness from the Almighty and take steps and we should make amends,” he said.
The former premier remarked that people’s vote must be respected.
“We shouldn’t engage in politics if we want to take orders from above,” he remarked, adding that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan takes orders from top. “This is hypocrisy.”
He questioned if there ever has been a prime minister in Pakistan’s history who was able to complete his/her tenure. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir, Nawaz Sharif, none of them completed their tenure as prime minister, he said, adding “this happens only in Pakistan. I have not seen something like this happen in any country.”
On Friday, The former prime minister Nawaz Sharif while addressing the party parliamentarians and leaders in Sargodha said that the decision to disqualify any lawmaker lifetime had to be taken by the parliament, however, apex court verdict in this regard clearly showed that only PML-N being targeted.
“The culprits who have gobbled up billion of rupees in Cotecna and Rental Power scandal are not being grilled while the former dictator Musharraf is leading the party despite facing high treason cases,” he said adding that Musharraf fled from country pretending back pain, however he was dancing in the party very next day in abroad.
“However I am not given permission to inquire health after of my ailing wife and my heart believes it is cruelty and wrongdoing with me,” Sharif said.
