Pishraft Medical Company is best known for its high-powered CT Scan and anesthetic machines and ventilators. It is now producing ventilators based on digital motor technology to help treat coronavirus patients in Iran.
Speaking to Press TV, the deputy head of the company said their bed-mounted and portable devices are now being produced in large numbers to meet the needs of the medical centers across the country.
The ventilators are bed-mounted and portable, with the option to run on battery power should the need arise. Officials say they can be manufactured quickly and efficiently and are designed in a way that could address the specific clinical needs of Covid-19 patients.
Pishraft is not the only major company that’s turned to ventilator design and production in recent weeks. Many other medical companies have pledged to repurpose their plants and develop the critical treatment devices.
Iran has eased some restrictions triggered by the coronavirus contagion. Low-risk businesses have been allowed to re-open following weeks of closure. The objective is to slow the spread of the virus while providing relief to businesses and wage-earners.
