Polling for NA-205 Ghotki by-election underway
Polling for the by-election for National Assembly constituency NA-205 Ghotki-II from Sindh province has begun.

The polling procedure commenced at 8 am sharp and will conclude at 5 pm without any break.

According to ECP, a total of 0.36 million voters including 0.2 million men and 0.16 million women are present in the constituency.

290 polling stations have been set up across Ghotki out of which 125 have been termed as “extremely sensitive”.

A strong contest is expected between Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Sardar Muhammad Bukhsh Khan Maher and independent Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Maher.

56 polling stations are for men and 56 for women whereas 178 other will be available for both genders to cast their votes.

The seat had fallen vacant after the death of PTI leader and Narcotics Minister Ali Mohammad Meher on May 21.

It is to be noted that ECP had previously delayed the by-polls after it emerged that one of the contesting candidates was having his case pending in Sindh High Court and the court has barred from publishing ballet papers till July 16, therefore, elections will be held on July 23 instead of July 18.
