Captured Indian pilot Abinandan has said that he was trying to find his target when the Pakistan Air Force shot his aircraft down inside Pakistani airspace on Wednesday.
"I was trying to find my target when your air force shot me down," Indian Air Force's Wing Commander Abhinandan was seen saying in a video clip released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani military's public relations wing.
"After that I had to leave my aircraft, which had broken down, and I had to eject. After ejecting.... when I fell down I had a pistol."
He said upon falling on the ground he saw too many locals and attempted to escape.
"There were a lot of people. I had only [one] way to save myself, so I dropped my pistol and I started to run. People followed me, at the same time, two jawans of the Pakistan Army came and saved me," Abhinandan said.
