Addressing the ceremony, the prime minister said that his government was adding Rs80 billion in the programme to alleviate poverty from the country.
He said a ministry was being established, which would be overseeing this programme.
"Savings bank accounts of around 5.7 million women would be opened, they would also be given mobile phones through which they would be paid," Khan said at the ceremony.
He vowed to start a "one-window operation" for eliminating poverty.
A day earlier, the prime minister had met with chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Dr Sania Nishtar and approved the programme in the meeting.
During the meeting, the premier had said the government has been taking effective measures for eliminating poverty.
"The care for people is the utmost priority of the government," he had said, adding that they would mobilise all available resources to alleviate poverty.
Khan had added that the experience and expertise of China would be followed to make this programme result-oriented.
