The Excise and Taxation department has recovered tax of Rs 1.9 billion under different heads across the division by December 31.

This was informed during a meeting held at Circuit House in the chair of Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmad, here Monday.

The minister reviewed the recovery under different heads of the department and directed for following a comprehensive strategy for ensuring the best performance.

He asked the officers to listen to the applicants with patience and provide every possible relief to them under the law and policy.

He assured that proper measures would be taken to remove problems confronted to the officers in administrative matters.

Director Excise Fiza Shah, during briefing, gave details of recovery of different taxes. She informed that Rs. 731.27 million had been recovered in property tax, Rs.500 million recovered in motor vehicle tax, Rs.624 million recovered as excise duty, Rs.41.8 million as professional tax, Rs. 4.45 million as recovered entertainment tax, Rs.13.35 million received as luxury housing tax and Rs. 6 million had been recovered as cotton fee in Faisalabad division by the end of last month.
