SC constitutes committee to probe killing of Amal in police encounter
Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) on Thursday has constituted an inquiry committee on the recommendation of judicial assistant Latif Khosa to probe the killing of ten-year-old Amal in police encounter in the Gizri area.

During the hearing conducted by a three-member bench, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar expressed resentment and bashed doctors for not providing timely treatment to the victim.

Doctors act like butchers, he added.

The top judge also directed the committee to submit report in two weeks.

Earlier, victim’s father had thanked CJP for taking up the case and recalled the incident, saying, “A dacoit snatched my wife’s phone and bag on gun-point in Akhtar Colony and fled the scene.”

As soon as I started the car, we heard a gunshot and a bullet suddenly hit our windshield and severely injured my daughter, he continued.

We took Amal to the hospital where doctors refused to treat her and also removed artificial respiratory pump after which, she succumbed to the injuries, he told.
