NSC Meeting Ends, Important Issues Discussed

PM summons NSC meeting to discuss security, border issues: sources
The National Security Committee met on Thursday to discuss the country’s security situation and border issues among other affairs, sources said.

Besides reviewing the implementation of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) reforms, the top civilian and military leadership also mulled over the regional situation and issues pertaining to eastern and western borders of the country, sources added.

Sources said the matter of a controversial book co-authored by former chief of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen (retd) Asad Durrani was also discussed in the high-level huddle.
Yesterday, following the outburst of former ISI head Asad Drunai controversial book, the military started the probe against him and Chief of Army Staff directed to concern authority to place his name on Exit Control List.EX ISI Head Durrani’s Name To Be Put On ECL: ISPRLieutenant General (retd) Asad Durrani, the former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), will be probed by a Court of Inquiry for views attributed to him in his book ‘The Spy Chronicles’, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
