West Indies' Cricket Board (CWI) met with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday whether to call off the rest of the ongoing tour after four more members of the touring party, including three players, tested positive for Covid-19.
CWI members and the PCB officials met hours before the toss for the third and final T20I was scheduled. According to reports, the West Indies players were hesitant to play but PCB had a lengthy discussion after which the final T20I will go ahead as planned today.
West Indies are also scheduled to play three one-day international matches in Pakistan. However, there is no final confirmation regarding the ODI series.
Wicketkeeper Shai Hope, spinner Akeal Hosein and all-rounder Justin Greaves, along with assistant coach Roddy Estwick and physician Akshai Mansingh, were found to be positive after Wednesday's tests.
