Saudi foreign minister arrives Islamabad

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud arrived in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.

The Saudi foreign minister was received by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the Foreign Office. 

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest and regional situation.

Speaking on the occasion, FM Qureshi said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have deep brotherly relations and the two countries are committed to further expand their relations in diverse fields, Radio Pakistan reported.

Qureshi also thanked his Saudi counterpart and the Saudi leadership for backing Pakistan's stance on Kashmir issue. Both the foreign ministers agreed to continue their bilateral consultations on important regional matters, including Kashmir issue.

The Saudi foreign minister will also call on Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to the Foreign Office during his visit and hold a meeting with FM Qureshi.

"This will be the Saudi foreign minister’s maiden visit to Pakistan, during which the exchange of views would cover bilateral matters and regional issues of mutual interest," the FO spokesperson said.
